Chip has been playing saxophone professionally and teaching lessons for over 20 years. He started playing music in elementary school. It quickly became a passion and he started playing gigs while still in high school. He studied saxophone performance and music education at the University of Connecticut. While there he played in the symphonic wind ensemble, jazz big band, small jazz combo groups and sax ensemble, as well as working on his flute and clarinet playing. During this time he was also an active performer outside of school, playing gigs throughout New England and up and down the eastern seaboard. He's been fortunate enough to have played in several different local & touring musical groups of various styles including jazz, rhythm and blues, hip-hop, pop rock, original rock, funk, and ska projects, americana, latin music, and has even played a number of square dances. He's also been active a clinician/guest artist for several middle and high schools throughout Connecticut as well as an adjudicator for the Connecticut regional & all state music festivals. He has been called upon as a recording artist for several independent CDs over the years and is still an active performer in various groups playing throughout the U.S.
His passion for playing, teaching & sharing music continues to this day.
Steven FitzGerald is an active performer as a soloist and as chamber musician. He is currently the principal saxophonist with the 102nd Army Band in Bristol, CT and a member of the Miklos Quartet. He has been featured artist at the 2003 Navy Saxophone Symposium and has participated in masterclasses with Eugene Rousseau, John Sampen, Marco Albonetti, and the New Century Saxophone Quartet.
Steve is currently pursuing a Master's in Saxophone Performance at Hartt School of Music. His teachers include Carrie Koffman, James Houlik and Dr. Keith Young.
Sara Slocum has been playing the flute for over twenty years starting her studies at the Community Division at the University of Hartford's The Hartt School. After graduating Portland High School she went on to earn her Bachelor's degree in flute performance from Adelphi University in 2007. She studied with Linda Wetherill and was principle flute of the university's Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Grammy Award nominee Christopher Lyndon-Gee. She has performed in a number of wind ensembles and symphonic bands. In 2011, Sara co-founded the Slocum-Keene Duo performing flute and guitar music throughout New York and Connecticut. She is a founding member of Wyndwoods and a member of the Charter Oak Flute Ensemble. Starting her teaching career in 2004, Sara has taught in Boston, New York and throughout central Connecticut. She teaches all ages and levels, both privately and as a flute ensemble. In the future, Sara hopes to complete her Master's degree in Music Therapy.
Adriane Kuzminski served as an active duty Soldier in the U.S. Army Band for over three years. She toured the Far East for a year as a clarinetist and alternate percussionist in the 2nd Infantry Division Band on Camp Red Cloud, South Korea. She later transferred to the 36th Army Band at Fort Huachuca, AZ, to promote the U.S. Army Band Program throughout the West Coast as a pianist and mallet player. Adriane teaches clarinet and piano and is pursuing a degree in Film Production at Emerson College in Boston.
