Sara Slocum

Sara Slocum has been playing the flute for over twenty years starting her studies at the University of Hartford's The Hartt School. After graduating Portland High School she went on to earn her Bachelor's degree in flute performance from Adelphi University in 2007. She studied with Linda Wetherill and was principle flute of the university's Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Grammy Award nominee Christopher Lyndon-Gee. She has performed in a number of wind ensembles and symphonic bands.

 

In 2011, Sara co-founded the Slocum-Keene Duo performing flute and guitar music throughout New York and Connecticut and a founding member of Wyndwoods. She is a member of many local ensembles including the Charter Oak Flute Ensemble, Colchester Civic Orchestra, Farmington Valley Symphony Orchestra, and the Flute Loops ensemble based out of East Haddam, CT.

Starting her teaching career in 2004, Sara has taught in Boston, New York and throughout central Connecticut. She teaches all ages and levels, both privately and as a flute ensemble. In the future, Sara hopes to complete her Master's degree in Music Therapy.

Chip Fenney

Chip has been playing saxophone professionally and teaching lessons for over 20 years. He started playing music in elementary school. It quickly became a passion and he started playing gigs while still in high school. He studied saxophone performance and music education at the University of Connecticut.
