Welcome to ConnValley School of Music & Dance!
We hope you and your families are all safe and healthy. As we begin our Fall Semester 2021 we are all hoping to get back to some type of normal and I am adjusting as well after losing my wife Ronna of 48 years in March. Ronna and I bought the school 38 years ago and she has been by my side throughout. I want to thank everyone for their expressions of sympathy and condolences as I am adjusting to my new normal. I want to thank Sara Slocum for stepping in and carrying out the day to day operations of the school while I was caring for Ronna, I could not have done it without her. I am in the process of starting a dance scholarship in Ronna’s name to honor her commitment to dance. Stay tuned for more information.
We have relaxed our mask protocol at the school. Masks are required for unvaccinated students and parents. Safety of our students and faculty is paramount. There are many new exciting things happening this year; we have completed our new Podcast Studio and Jon Peckman has been hosting his weekly podcast every Tuesday night featuring a variety of musical topics interviewing our faculty and many exciting guest artists. Check out the show at www.connvalley.net. The studio is available for rent to anyone who wants to start their own podcasts!
We are excited to add Clara Guilmette and Bryan Caudle to our faculty on banjo and percussion. John Valerio has also returned to our piano faculty and also teaches accordion. Check out our faculty page to see time availabilities and sign up. Lessons are resuming in person but we also have Zoom capabilities for those that wish to take remote lessons.
As public schools get into their fall music programs, Conn. Valley is as well. We are a Music and Arts affiliate location providing band instrument rentals for all area schools. We also have an onsite repair department for all your instrument repairs and setups. Curb side rentals are available also.
On behalf of all our faculty and staff here at Conn. Valley we feel fortunate to be a part of the Portland Business community. The countless friendships and relationships we have developed over our 39 years in business and support we have received form the community has been heartwarming.
